The SkillELECTRIC 2009 winner has scooped another presigious accoldate.  Chris Young was delighted to receive a gold Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card presented by the Joint Industry Board (JIB).

Chris (pictured right with his SkillELECTRIC trophy) qualified for a gold ECS card at Electrician level, having completed his apprenticeship with Rogers' Restorations in Somerset.

His employer Mike Rogers was also delighted to be awarded a gold card for his role as an Approved Electrician.  “It’s great to have the card as a mark of our quality and competence,” he said. “It means we can stand apart from our competitors who don’t have the card and reinforces our high standard of work to our clients.”

The ECS is the sole ID and competence card scheme for electrotechnical operatives in the UK and is affiliated to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Card-holders are able to prove their identity, occupation and qualified status when working on site. The ECS is administered in England, Northern Ireland and Wales by the Joint Industry Board and in Scotland by the Scottish Joint Industry Board.
