BSE excellence helps UK success at WorldSkills London 2011

SummitSkills is celebrating the quality of the building services engineering sector’s vocational training after Team UK won a gold medal in plumbing and heating, a bronze medal in refrigeration and air conditioning and a medallion of excellence in electrical installation at WorldSkills London 2011 last week (4 to 8 October).

Talented young heating engineers went head to head at the recent SkillPIPE skills competition heats, held at Salford City College last week (29 – 30 June 2011). SkillPIPE, along with SkillELECTRIC, SkillPLUMB and SkillFRIDGE competitions are organised by sector skills council SummitSkills. The heats were held over two days, and the highest scoring competitors will be invited to compete in the UK finals at Leeds College Building in September 2011.
