SkillM&E set itself the ultimate challenge this week, with three competitions running at the same time at Leeds College of Building.

The Midlands heat of SkillELECTRIC and SkillPLUMB saw one of the closest heats so far in the competition to find the UK's best electrical and plumbing apprentices. Stephenson College, Nottingham hosted both events, with the awards ceremony held close by at the Vineyard.

Apprentices from across Wales gathered at Coleg Llandrillo for the Welsh heats of SkillELECTRIC and SkillPLUMB 2009 on 6 & 7 May. The competition attracted huge local interest from press and industry, who were keen to get involved.
